2022--Beer #9: Prolific (Two Locals Brewing Company)

Thank you Mandon for providing this hump day beer! Prolific (6.4% ABV) is a hazy IPA from Two Locals Brewing Company. This beer is double dry hopped with Simcoe and Mosaic hops paired with oats and wheat. After a few of these one may not feel as prolific as they once were to start the day. Two Locals Brewing Company was created by two brothers in Philadelphia, PA in 2016. They started as a pop up shop, appearing around the city of Philadelphia. Their beers are on sale online and at local shops and bars, but they are still in search of a home for the brewery. This marks our second beer from the state of PA.

Hello everyone, today Mandon is thankful for sushi Wednesday! Iykyk😏. However, we are not thankful for this beer. The can is subpar and although they speak of mango nectar, guava, and pineapple, all we tasted was pure oats and wheat. Definitely was NOT our cup of tea! Overall we have to give this beer a 1/5. Cheers to tomorrow and hopefully a better beer! 🍻

Hello! Today, Heidi is thankful that Giant was not crowded at all while she did her holiday grocery shopping this evening and Keith is thankful that he worked his last day before starting his six day holiday vacation. We both agree with Mandon that the can art could be more exciting but it's not bad, just a little plain. We actually liked this beer although got no tropical fruit flavor while drinking...maybe a very, very subtle fruit aftertaste? Heidi thinks it reminds her of a pale ale and Keith enjoyed it, said it is very good and would order a second one if this was served at a bar. Definitely not as advertised though, not your typical hazy IPA. Both rating this beer a 3.5. Happy 4th day before Christmas Everyone!

Hello everybody! Prolific from Two Locals Brewery earns a 2.1 out of 5 from Trey Butt. Oddly enough I feel like the can artwork fits the beer in which both are very underwhelming. Reading the description and observing the pour, I was expecting good things but all I really taste is malty, toasty, Carmel notes that sit on the tongue well after tasting it. It’s just not my cup of tea unfortunately. I think the name Prolific is a great name for a beer specifically an ipa (must a one-word starting with P thing i.e. Perpetual, Pernicious, etc.) but this one fell short of the standard. I am thankful to be able to try and critique all the different styles within styles! Cheers 🍻

I agree with Heather, thankful the store wasn’t too crowded after work for the holiday food shopping! I liked this beer! It had a good IPA flavor and was lighter tasting! I give this a 4 out of 5. My last day of work tomorrow, our office party, off till the new year! The most wonderful time of the year!! Cheers!❤️🎄

I’m thankful my grandson helped me mix up cookies we’ll bake tomorrow! Other than Char and I whose beer foamed over when opening? I enjoyed this easy drinker, what didn’t foam out! I could drink several of these, Can Art had classy colors they failed to use to intrigue or entertain someone’s curiosity to try the beer…find a damn brick and mortar, and clean this up if you keep brewing. Lettering is drab! Who really cares? It’s beer, we’re among friends, Christmas is within grasp…all great reasons to enjoy the season!

Our beer flowed over as well...indication it became warm at some point in the distribution chain.

We’re thankful tonight for the relief provided by post beer flatulence.

Basic can art duotone, doesn’t tell much which makes sense if just two locals. Pours hazy but looks filtered. On the nose pleasant, pineapple but nothing too forward which we like the muted favor. We think it is nice, smooth beer…4.0 out o 5.0. Good selection!

Prolific was not quite as advertised… not so much haze and very little match on the taste description. Was a pretty easy one to drink, I enjoy the 6.4 abv but the IPAs with that malty caramel aftertaste are not ones I normally enjoy. I too experienced the over flow of foam wondering if maybe this altered my taste. 2.5 out of 5.

🎶 On the 9th day of Christmas, my true brew gave to me, a prolific IPAAAA 🎶 overall, not a bad beer, middle of the road IPA, easy to drink. I was also expecting bigger flavors considering the can describes the flavors as BIG. Oddly enough, when I opened my, I also experienced lots of foam. Considering the story of the brewery a little warmth during the distribution chain makes sense. I rate it a 3.8 out 5. Cheers! 🍻🎄🎅 One more day of school until Christmas Break for over 2 weeks!!!
