Thank you Cori for providing this start of the week beer. Gingerbread Porter (9.2% ABV) comes from Hardywood Park Craft Brewery. The Gingerbread Porter is brewed with Columbus and Fuggle hops mixed with ginger, honey, and spices. Boasting a 9.2% ABV, this beer may have you running around yelling, "Run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me!" Hardywood Park Craft Brewery was started in 2011 by two friends in Richmond, Virginia. The brewery helps other local businesses by using local ingredients and hosting community events.

Woo first to comment! Today (and every day) we are thankful for our 3 pups, as they all nap beside us after a long day of being annoying. I watched Mae hide 3 toys in the couch, Ghost hit his head on the kitchen table and Nellie jump 3ft straight into the air all within 5 minutes. But on to today’s brew, Mandon is divided on this one! As an avid porter-hater, Maddy actually doesn’t mind this one. She says its much sweeter than she expected, but she enjoys it as a tasting or part of a flight, still struggles to finish her half however she thinks that’s just her dislike for porters overpowering. Also definitely doesn’t taste like a 9.2er. She is a huge fan of the blank stare on the gingerbread man can art, it feels like he knows something we don’t. She gives 3.5/5. Brandon thinks the can art is “eerie”. Maddy thinks he’s secretly frightened by the gingerbread man. He’s just simply not a fan at all of this one, and doesn’t have much to say other than 2.2/5. We hope everyone had a happy Monday and enjoys this long post (:

Happy Drinking Session to all! Keith is thankful that he only has 2 more work days until his long holiday weekend and Heidi is thankful that all of her Christmas shopping is done and presents are wrapped. We both loved the can art on this one. Very modern and "farm-housey" looking. Although the flavor is full and nice, Heidi feels this porter is a bit too heavy for her liking. Too dark and malty for her maybe? To be fair, Heidi just REALLY likes her IPA's. Keith says it's a good stout, likes the flavor, but as with all flavored beers, this is a "one and done" for him. For this reason, he really liked the 9.2% ABV and rates this beer 3.8! Heidi rates this beer a 2. Cheers!

Christmas is so close! I’m thankful that John does our wrapping! My expertise is shopping! I was not looking forward to this one, not a fan of fall spices in beer. I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted mostly chocolate. This was more enjoyable than I thought but really strong. I would rate it a 3. Cheers and be good… Santa is coming soon!

Enjoy being naughty just before Christmas! Porter’s are scary to me, but getting better at accepting them, loved the power of this one, it makes it worth drinking, the porter warms you up on a cold evening. Chocolate with a hint of sweetness, my buds seem to be confused early into several of the different beers, but part way through, they begin to embrace! Again I’m accepting this Porter as a welcome friend, it pairs well with a snack! 3.6/5. On to this can, a playful kid like Gingerbread man welcomes you in, and hits you with a hammer 9.2 Abv. The little sneaky bastard! Now I’ll cherish chewing the arms and legs off his cookie cousins! See it’s the beer talking now! Cheers friends can’t wait to see everyone soon!

Snapped into this beer while watching Monday night football. I taste the spice with almost a thick molasses, bready flavor. For a unique blend of flavors, the beer drinks rather smooth. This is a good sit back and relax by a fire type of beer. I rate this a 3.2 out of 5. I am thankful for the final week of school before Christmas break! Cheers all! 🍻🎄🎅

Hello all! Sorry for my absence yesterday (Snake Run review is now posted)! Getting to this beer, I give it a solid 4.1 out of 5. The high ABV is automatic turn on for me when it comes to darker beers because I know I can’t drink many at a time and it makes the beer worthwhile. Initially I get taste a sweet cookie flavor but it quickly turns to mixture of coffee and chai tea. The darkness and spiciness would be a perfect compliment to a cold bowl of vanilla ice cream (which I immediately got myself a bowl of). I’m a big fan of the soul-staring gingerbread man on the can and think the simplicity of the can artwork is perfect. My favorite part of this beer is the fact it’s made by a brewery named Hardywood…cheers everyone!

My second favorite thing is that it is brewed with Fuggle hops

Cheers everyone! What an interesting porter packed with all sorts of holiday flavors. Not normally a spice fan but found this beer got better and better the more I drank hitting me with all the different flavor profiles (and probably the high abv). 3.7 out of 5

Good evening, all. Margie is excited for beer #7. Quick look at the can art doesn’t do justice to Tyler’s photogenic still shot. Is he buying these props? Onto the can art itself. We like the font selection - cute and seasonal. Strong gingerbread person image selection. Date on bottom of can is 10/24/22 – Oct 24 is a great day in history of the Gruver family! Confused on text description -what is a GBS lover? GBS is on the gingerbread person. We must research acronym. Still not sure what it means. Good, Bad, Strange? General Bull Shit? Might be a podcast. Or it could be some weird syndrome that shows up in Margie’s hospital unit. Let’s hope it is a podcast. Smells as advertised but not overwhelming. Pours dark. Cheers. Whoa that hits the taste buds – we’re tasting the flavors, ginger in mouth then vanilla, cinnamon, and honey down the hatch. Liking this strong, imperial porter, would drink a 2nd right now because it might put Margie under. Rating is 4.25.
