Thank you to the Wayne for providing this Sunday beverage, Snake Run (8% ABV) from 10 Barrel Brewing Company. Snake Run is a Double IPA. It is described as hoppy, piney with a touch of citrus. This beer is sure to slither its way into your stomach. 10 Run Barrel Brewing Company started by three friends in 2006 located in Bend, Oregon. This is our first beer contribution from the west coast.

Happy football Sunday and one week away from Christmas! Todays beer is exactly how described, hoppy, piney, and citrus. What I liked is the citrus stood out to me which I love! I also loved that for such a strong beer it tasted so light and fresh. This was an easy drinker and other than not being able to drink many I give this a 4 out of 5. Cheers!

We are thankful to be tasting this beer today in front of our Christmas tree with Madison and Brandon! Keith says "this is my perfect beer, all hops and no haze. Only bummer is that it only comes in 12 ounce." He rates it a 5 out of 5. Heidi thinks it has an initial strong honey-like flavor and loves the hop ending. Others say they enjoy the piney taste but Heidi doesn't taste pine in this one. So interesting how everyone has a different taste impression - loving these tastings! Keith rates this beer a 5 and Heidi rates it a solid 4. Cheers!

Hello all! We hope everyone is having a happy cozy Sunday, we are thankful to spend this tasting with the ever so lovely Heidi and Keith. Fun fact about 10 Barrel Brewing, we visited the one in Denver, CO on our honeymoon! We tasted every IPA on their menu and loved every single one. This beer is no different, it’s Mandon’s collective favorite of the brewstravaganza so far! Maddy loved the lingering hoppy aftertaste and the strong pine flavor, Brandon says he feels like he’s eating a Christmas tree which fills him with joy. The only critique is that we wish it was it had a little more carbonation, and that we wish it was a 16oz-er 😏. But overall a delish brew that we’d definitely buy and drink again. 4.5/5!

Happy Sunday! We are getting real close. I smelled the citrus and taste early on didn’t grab me, but half way through I realized I was enjoying this one! Can size was funny, I’m used to having something larger in my hands! Good after taste, I could drink a lot of these. 4.2/5. The can art looks like a short fat Corona Can…Oregon is a state of artsy people, what happened, they need more creativity, and need a full size man can! But the beer was very good!

We’re thankful for being a sports fan today. All our teams won! Can art of the Snake Run beverage is rather plain. Reminds us of that grocery store back in the day – Pathmark no frills. Margie thinks the skateboarder is in the woods. What? Best before date on button. What button. But if you look on the bottom of the can…29Mar21. Is it OK to drink this beverage? What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. This beer seems to be lacking in volume. My glass doesn’t look as full as the other tastings. Pours hazy, nose has a hint of orange citrus…thinking this might be YUM. Margie the anti IPA doesn’t like the bitter aftertaste, Ron doesn’t think it’s that bitter. We’re having an argument discussion. She doesn’t enjoy and will not give a rating. She’s also pounding chocolates again to cleanse the palette. She has been kicked out of this session so more for me. I have NOT been kicked out…I’ve chosen to leave. Ron likes this beer and rates 4.0 out of 5.0.

A day late to post, sorry! Really enjoyed this beer. This IPA is right up my alley! Piney, a bit of citrus, and the perfect pinch of bitterness. The hazy look did not disappoint as the flavor had a nice "snake" bite, but also very smooth. I rate this a 4.5 out of 5. I would definitely buy a case of this to keep on hand! Cheers! 🍻🎄🎅

Loved this double IPA! Full of flavor with a great citrus punch up front finishing with piney hoppy aftertaste. This one could get ya in trouble with the higher abv but not being too boozy tasting! 4.5 out of 5

A day late but not a dollar short! A 3.4 out of 5 for me on the Snake Run IPA from 10 Barrel. If I were beer shopping without anything in mind, I’d sadly pass over this beer strictly due to the can artwork. It’s almost as if they googled “skateboarder” and chose the first image listed. No creativity and no snakes sadly plays a factor into my rating (-0.2). The beer itself pours more hazy than what I thought based off of the first whiff of the beer. The classic pine and citrus combination immediately overtakes the palette with a bitter aftertaste which I know and love. It definitely has the west coast taste and is right on the verge of having the strong west coast boozy ipa taste. Also to note, I subtracted 0.1 rating points for being the only teeny tiny 12oz’er in the Brewstavaganza. Overall a delicious beer that I would enjoy any time of the year!
