2022--Beer #4: Flash of Diamonds (Dewey Beer Company)

Thank you to Char for providing this sparkle of a beer, Flash of Diamonds (6% ABV) from the Dewey Beer Company. Flash of Diamonds is a Session IPA brewed with Galaxy and Citra Hops. It will be sure to put a twinkle in your eye. The Dewey Beer Company is located in Harbeson, Delaware with another location at the Dewey Beach. This marks our third beer from the state of Delaware!

We’ll, I’m the first review of the beer I chose haha! I wasn’t sure because I obviously picked it for the name and can! I like a flavorful beer that’s not too strong and on the lighter side, and this was just that! I liked the haziness and the hoppy taste. It was good and I would get it again, rating it 4 out of 5. Cheers and happy weekend! I’m thankful for Making Christmas memories!

We are back again after a hiatus yesterday! We did try the beer, and neither of us finished it as we both strongly dislike porters. But tonight’s brew is a different story! Brandon is a big fan of the “psychedelic” can art, and Maddy likes the name. This beer is a perfect mix of what Mandon loves most, a hoppy (but not too hoppy) taste with a beautiful hazy finish. We are very thankful to have this beer to cap off a very long and tiring work week. Definitely our favorite so far, we are giving this a strong 4.5/5!

What! Not able to finish the beer? You two can look at live human innards but can’t handle only 8 ounces each wimpies.
Message from Margie. It’s fine…whenever I don’t like a beer I just hand it over to the human garbage disposal.

Happy Friday everybody! Getting right to it, Flash of Diamonds is getting a 3.9 out of 5 from me. It’s interesting to see the love for the can artwork from Char and Mandon so far because for me it was just bleh. I think Dewey Beer really missed an opportunity by not putting ANY diamonds on it and making it a bejazzled can design. Onto the beer. I was pleasantly surprised pouring it into my glass as it was much more opaque and hazy than I expected from a session IPA. I get the same citrus jolt in my jaw that I got from night one’s Kickstand DIPA which I kinda like. It’s a crushable IPA and with the lower ABV it’s nice to be able to enjoy quite a few before becoming a mess. So far this is my highest rated beer of the Brewstavaganza (3.9) and may be a tough one to top! Cheers! ⚡️💎⚡️💎

Delaware is showing to have some great brews! Galaxy and citra hops, two of my favorite!! Loved the bite from these hops as the initial taste of this hazy ipa was full of hoppy flavor! Dewey beer did well! 4 out of 5!

We are getting closer! I was pleasantly surprised by great opening taste, as tasting went on the Diamonds left a thick film to my palette. Nice Citrus aroma, but not sure, I could drink many! I like Char’s can, but her beer can could have been spruced up a bit, to lend credence to the name! They did miss an opportunity, but overall this beer was a good choice if I’m drinking one! I liked it, and rated it a 3.8/5! I feel bedazzled as the Flash of Diamonds gets us another day closer to Christmas day!

I don’t think I’ve ever had a Dewey beer that I disliked! Definitely a nice blend of hops, but had a bit of a bitter aftertaste. Think this was one of my favorites so far! 4.25/5.

Happy weekend! I am not typically a Session IPA guy, but I was pleasantly surprised with this beer. I rate it this a 3.8 out of 5. The haziness surprised me for a Session as they are typically too light for my liking. The citrus flavoring paired with the haziness made this a very refreshing beer to enjoy while sitting back, watching some TV, and enjoying the fireplace. Christmas is approaching quickly! Cheers all! 🍻🎄🎅

We’re fans of the can label retro artwork,70’s disco era vibe. I don’t quite understand the flash of diamonds and how it ties into the artwork. Is it because they stole diamonds and are on the highway?
We’re thankful today for Countryside fuel delivering heating oil and Christmas cookies. Not so much the price, just the delivery. The beverage is hazy, thick looks like orange juice, smells citrusy. I must take a taste, nice finish. Doesn’t taste as citrusy as the nose. I could drink a couple of these. Wait, some bitter taste behind throat. Not right away but delayed. Pairing with chocolate again solves everything. Not as strong aftertaste as beer #1, which is expected as session style not 2IPA. Is 6% really a session beer. Rating is 3.75 out of 5.

Greetings to all! Catching up on some beer tasting today since this weekend was full of holiday cheer and no time to sit at home and relax. We are certainly thankful for the holiday cheer in our lives. Loving the 70's can art so much! We both said the can reminds us of our fun middle school years at the local skating rink. Keith said it makes him want to put on his roller skates and "shoot the duck" again. Heidi LOVES this Session beer and enjoys the refreshing, complex hops flavor it presents. Keith is not a fan of session beers but said it's THE BEST session beer he has ever had. Heidi rates this beer a solid 4, only because she feels the after taste is lacking. Keith rates this beer a 3.5. Cheers!
