Thank you to Trey for starting the Bearded Baker Brewstravaganza with Kickstand Double IPA (8% ABV). Kickstand is a Double IPA beer dry hopped with Citra, Sultana, and El Dorado hops. It's the perfect beer to get the wheels turning. Kickstand comes from Finback Brewing Company out of New York City. Finback is a brewery that started back in 2011 and opened its doors officially in Queens, NYC in 2013.

Santa’s coming! Santa’s Coming! We’re thankful for our first present of the year and hopeful this 2IPA will slide over our throats smoothly like Saint Nick coming down the chimney. Like our beaded friend, we think this may have been selected by another bearded friend, but we’re not sure.
First reaction from MarRon - can art is lame and confusing she says. Took a while to figure out it is a kick stand and wheels – no bikes on Xmas lists this year. Now to the beer. Very hazy look, notes of orange fruit on smell. First taste reveals orange shandy. Nice wallop of aftertaste. Better half of MarRon thought chocolate would be a good pairing, as she says, chocolate goes with everything! Rating is 3.5 out of 5. Probably diminishing returns after the first beer. We enjoyed the present to start our day!

Beautifully put! P.S. Brandon thinks your joint name should be “Rongie”🤪

I’m late to the posting game, but I did enjoy last night’s first beer! Wasn’t expecting the haze, but I’m here for it! The bold, juicy flavor made it a satisfying drink!

My toxic trait is giving generous beer ratings: I gave this one a 4.25! I’m a sucker for a good hazy! (My other toxic trait is adding explanation points after every sentence)!!!!!

Keith says "Picasso himself rose from the grave to create this masterpiece of a can label." However, upon further inspection, he noticed small, dead, spider nests around his can rim (-1 point). Happily, Heidi's can was pristine. Now to the beer; beautiful color, juicy fresh taste but wishing for more hop kick. One or two would be enjoyable, but is enough. We rate this beer 3 out of 5. We are very thankful for our friends and family who are participating in this fun, festive Brewstravaganza. Cheers to all!

To get into the holiday spirit that is the 12 beers of Christmas, we lit every Christmas light and candle at the bar to simulate a Yule log. Christmas beer is proven to taste better by the fireplace🔥 upon first taste, both members of Mandon love the citrusy taste and cloudy look of kickstand. Brandon personally is a huge fan, but is afraid to rate the beer too high since it’s only night one so he gives it 3.3. He enjoys the balance of hops (not a huge hop guy) but says the citrus is a bit too strong and wouldn’t be able to drink too many. Madison isn’t as big of a fan, loves the taste but also wishes it was a bit more hoppy. She’s also a bit disturbed by the thickness of the beer, but thinks maybe she’s just being a weakling. She gives it 2.9, making Mandon’s final rating of kickstand 3.1. Cheers!

Kicked off the night with Christmas Lights, followed by some Christmas snacks while watching The Grinch with my family! I'm thankful for relaxing nights like this in our new home. I decided to pour this first tasty sensation in a Christmas glass to discover that Kickstand Double IPA has a beautiful haze. I taste lots of orange zest with a bitter aftertaste. It almost reminds me of a spiked orange juice. It has a bit of a zing of carbonation that I wouldn't expect with such a hazy looking beer. Overall, I enjoyed the beer and give it a 3.8/5. Cheers all! 🍻🎅🎄

Hello all! Baby Beard (Trey) here to give you my review of Kickstand Double IPA from Finback. Phew! What a lead off beer to start this awesome event! Right off the bat I’m rating this one a 3.7 out of 5. Whether you like it or not, the artwork of the label or can is a big factor in the enjoyment of a beer. I may be in the minority but I actually enjoyed this label for two reasons 1. I’m a sucker for abstract art 2. The design looks like something I could draw. Onto the beer itself…the opaque Sunny D like consistency was an automatic turn on for me when I poured it into my glass because it reminds me of the dank northeastern IPAs I love. Looks did not deceive or disappoint. I initially got jolted in the jaw with a citrus pucker followed by a coating of smooth bitterness on my tongue. I enjoyed this beer more and more with every sip and do not mind tootin’ my own horn for selecting this tasty beverage. I do apologize on behalf of Breskis Beer Distributor for their spider infested cans and will make sure to inspect any further purchases from them beforehand from now on. I hope you all enjoyed as much as I did and am looking forward to the next 11! Cheers 🍻

Merry Brewstravaganza everyone! I loved the name and can of beer #1. I also loved seeing the haze when I poured it! It had a good citrus flavor, and I agree with Trey about the northeast. It reminded me of a beer we would have had at alchemist. I liked it, not really a beer I would get again. However, my rating will seem high because I’m worried about some of our selections haha. I rate it a 3.5. Good IPA. Cheers!

Merry Christmas to all, the foamy, creamy smooth with no hoppy effect at all first palette challenger actually goes down nicely, without a bite! The can’s artwork appears to be the result of his infant first born trying to do his best, abstract maybe in the future, but get the kid crayons for Christmas, we need color!

Nothing like starting off the beer advent with a solid hazy IPA. Loved the citrus taste and the fact it lacked that sometime too strong hazy-burn aftertaste. Nothing wrong with getting some vitamin C with a buzz, too. Felt a great connection to the beer probably because of the name 😉 3.7 out of 5
