2022--Beer #12: Santa Claws (Fat ORange Cat Brewing Company)

Thank you to Cassidy for providing the final beer of the Bearded Baker Brewstravaganza 2022. Santa Claws (9.1%) is a Double Imperial Pastry Stout from the Fat Orange Cat Brewing Company. It is a malty beer brewed with cinnamon buns. Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring, especially not a mouse after drinking this "cat"tastic beer. Fat Orange Brewing Company is located in East Hampton, Connecticut. The company is named after an orange cat named Billy. As of 2021 the brewery is closed to the public and is now distribute only.

The Christmas weekend is upon us! Tyler provided this beer to kick off the weekend. Shape of Haze to Come (8.8% ABV) is a Hazy Double IPA brewed by Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company. This beer is double dry hopped made with wheat and oats, combined with Simcoe, Ekuanot, and Mosaic hops, and blended with peaches and lactose. Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company opened in 2010 and is located in Croydon, Pennsylvania. This marks our third beer from the home state of Pennsylvania!

Thank you MarRon for providing this beer! Big Timber IPA (6.5% ABV) is an American IPA from the Big Timber Brewing Company. The IPA is a piney beer brewed with Ahtanum, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The only question is "wood" you rather drink 1 or 2 of these beers? Big Timber brewing company started in 2014 and is located in Elkins, West Virginia. Surrounded by forests in the heart of Appalachia is what gives Big Timber its name.

Thank you Mandon for providing this hump day beer! Prolific (6.4% ABV) is a hazy IPA from Two Locals Brewing Company. This beer is double dry hopped with Simcoe and Mosaic hops paired with oats and wheat. After a few of these one may not feel as prolific as they once were to start the day. Two Locals Brewing Company was created by two brothers in Philadelphia, PA in 2016. They started as a pop up shop, appearing around the city of Philadelphia. Their beers are on sale online and at local shops and bars, but they are still in search of a home for the brewery. This marks our second beer from the state of PA.

Thank you John for the BREWSday, I mean Tuesday beer. Tickle Parts (7.1% ABV) comes from Levante Brewing Company. It is a dry-hopped New England/Hazy IPA that is brewed with El Dorado, Mosaic, and Citra hops paired with tropical fruit juices. This beer is sure to tickle your fancy. Levante Brewing Company first started in a college apartment and officially opened as a brewery in 2015 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. This marks our first PA beer of the advent!

Thank you Cori for providing this start of the week beer. Gingerbread Porter (9.2% ABV) comes from Hardywood Park Craft Brewery. The Gingerbread Porter is brewed with Columbus and Fuggle hops mixed with ginger, honey, and spices. Boasting a 9.2% ABV, this beer may have you running around yelling, "Run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me!" Hardywood Park Craft Brewery was started in 2011 by two friends in Richmond, Virginia. The brewery helps other local businesses by using local ingredients and hosting community events.

This beer is sure to slither its way into your stomach. 10 Run Barrel Brewing Company started by three friends in 2006 located in Bend, Oregon. This is our first beer contribution from the west coast.

Thank you to Melissa for providing Saturday's beer, Cherry Cheesecake Sour (5.5% ABV) from the Smuttynose Brewing Company. Cherry Cheesecake Sour is a Sour-Fruited beer brewed with wheat and oats mixed with lactose, cherry puree, and vanilla. Not to sound cheesy, but after a few of these, your cheeks will have a nice cherry hue. Smuttynose Brewing Company started out as in 1994, It has changed ownership several times over the years. In 2018 it landed in its current location of Towle Farm in Hampton, New Hampshire.

It's a campfire gathering in a glass. Big Oyster Brewery opened in 2015 in Lewes, Delaware. It was named the fastest growing craft brewery in 2018. This is our second beer from the state of Delaware!

Walking Run (5.6% ABV) is a New England Style Pale Ale brewed with English malt, wheat malt, and flaked oats paired with citrus and tropical hops. It's a great beer for an active lifestyle, whether it be walking or running. Dogfish Head Craft Brewery opened up in Milton, Delaware back in 1995. As of 2019 Dogfish Head Craft Brewery teamed up with the new owners, the Boston Beer Company.

Thank you to Trey for starting the Bearded Baker Brewstravaganza with Kickstand Double IPA (8% ABV). Kickstand is a Double IPA beer dry hopped with Citra, Sultana, and El Dorado hops. It's the perfect beer to get the wheels turning. Kickstand comes from Finback Brewing Company out of New York City. Finback is a brewery that started back in 2011 and opened its doors officially in Queens, NYC in 2013.
