2025--BEER #20: Denogginizer (Drake's Brewing Co.)

Thank you Wayne for beer number 20 of the advent. Denogginizer is 9.75% ABV Double IPA from Drake's Brewing Company. Brewed with dank, sticky, west coast hops gives the big bold resinous hop monster its kick! Too many of these and you may bump your "Denoggin." A tasty beer for some final days of wrapping gifts and spending time together with family and friends.

Drake's Brewing Company first opened in an old Dodge dealership in San Leandro, California. Denogginizer was first produced in 2004 and has since become one of their best selling beers.

Hello fellow beer drinkers!

Denoginizer certainly has a boring can but as they say..."what's inside really counts." We both loved this one and Heather doesn't normally go for the double IPA's. Wayne says "it's just how he likes them, dank and sticky." Heather likes that it doesn't taste too strong and has a nice aftertaste (molasses??). We both rate this one 4.5 mugs. We are thankful for Wayne's work Christmas party this evening. Cheers!

Sharing with my neighbor before Hershey Bears game tonight. I like the quirky, cartoonish style can art and bold text design that makes it stand out. The illustration gives off a creative, offbeat vibe, which is pretty fitting for a high ABV beer. Piney smell on nose typical of a west coast IPA. On taste we both said something is off, more head than beer, bready and boozy than pine citrus forward taste. Checked the can date 03-04-25 so not that old. That said, we did finish our pour. 🍺🍺🍺

Caleb and I had a hard time opening this one! Even though I warned him that the group chat said it was messy to open, he opened it above his lap and it caused a quick wardrobe change because he ended up wearing a good portion of it. It was definitely an IPA. We’d give it 2.5. The can art was a little less intricate than some, but it paired nicely with my favorite book of the year. I can’t wait to post it to my Instagram tomorrow!

Can art was funny I couldn’t read the name until after I drank the 9.7 ABV ha a strong licorice after taste for this IPA, stayed consistent the whole way through. 3.5 on this one, packed a power punch.

Feeling the big day drawing near! Thankful for our family tradition today of the Strasburg Santa train!🎅🏼🚂 I drank today’s beer while wrapping presents and watching 4 Christmas’s and it helped me get through the wrapping chore. The can was very unique and artistic, I give it a 4 mugs

I read that it was going to be a mess to open and proceeded to still open it and have the foam go all over me. Can art was neat! Tough to read at first. Was a nice drink to have while watching a sports filled day. 3.7 for me!

Name was hard a heck to figure out as well as my thoughts on this beers taste. Strong abv and it tasted that way not necessarily in a bad way. Very strong hop resin taste reminded me of big oyster hammerhead west coast a lot just a lot stronger. 3 mugs from me

I’m glad we weren’t alone in figuring out the name. Playing catch up and I guess it’s safe to say I must like it “dank and sticky” also! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Enjoyed this beer with the family tonight! Kind of reminded me of Dogfish 120 minute. I tasted the 9.75% while drinking this one haha. Enjoyable Double IPA that goes right to the “denoggin.”

This is a little hoppy but overall it is pretty good. The ABV adds a nice touch to it, as the taste isn’t overly powering. I agree with Trent I could not figure out how to read the can at all haha. I would give this 3.5 mugs.

Ho, Ho, Ho well onto beer two tonight to catch up. I loved the strong 9.75 ABV for this beer, that is always a plus, just hoping it had good taste. Taste was not bad but I could only drink two of these because I did not care for taste that much. I do agree with Trent it was alittle hard to figure out the name of the beer . As for can art, it did not have Christmas theme, so I will give this beer a 2.75 on mig scale.

A strong 9.75% indeed. A strong IPA taste, but smooth enough. Not too intense of a taste. Would definitely drink again!

3.5 / 5 Mugs
