2025--BEER #19: Colonel Forbin (Well Crafted Beer Co.)

Thank you to Ron and Margie for providing beer number 19 of the advent. Colonel Forbin is a 7.2% ABV West Coast IPA from Well Crafted Beer Company. This beer is brewed with pale malt blended with Cascade, Comet, Columbus, and Simcoe hops and paired with candied citrus and resinous pine. This refreshing IPA is a great way to kick off the last weekend until Christmas!

Well Crafted Beer Company first opened in 2018 and is located in Landsale, PA. They have since opened a second location in Ambler, PA. The name originated from the original well water used when the brewery was just beginning. The brewery has evolved after many studies of ingredients and the use of conditioned water for each beer.

Group comment on tonight's beer selection since we are all thankful to be together during our annual cookie bake day! Loving the can art - it's like a drunk Where's Waldo. Can you find the sloth, bird, dog and lizard hiding amongst the beautiful pine trees? We did! As for the brew, everyone but Brandon loved it. It's the perfect rendition of a West Coast IPA and this was delicious! Wishing we had more of these. Wayne rates this 4.5 mugs. Heather, Maddy & Trey rate it 4.7 mugs. Brandon simply doesn't care for this style of "dank" beer and so he rates it 2 mugs. Cheers to the weekend!!

Big fan of the initial piney citrus flavor, typical of your west coast IPA’s. The aftertaste is too bitter for me though. Love that it’s a local brewery! I’ve never heard of it before which is why this advent is so cool. I give it 3.5 mugs. I think my taste buds are changing and that’s disappointing. I once LOVED this style of beer.

Very enjoyable IPA. I like the piney, Christmas tree taste. It also smells slightly citrusy; it tastes citrusy too.

It is a Well Crafted beer indeed. I like the sloth hidden in the pine forest.

Falls right under the category of you get exactly what you expect, but in a good way. A solid IPA where the dank hops hit you soon as it touches your tongue. Well done!

Brewstravaganza friends, when I chose this beverage for all to enjoy the can art of midnight green, silver and trees gave power to my mind when backpacking the rugged PA mountaintops ascending thru the forest reaching the crescendo pinnacle like an EAGLE. Plus, what’s the over under how to spell colonel? This west coast beer did not disappoint, I could and will drink this until Margie’s superpower realizes my enjoyment and comes in to shut this shit down, around 11:45 tonight ….🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

I’m usually a fan of West coast IPA’s and this was another fine selection! Can art was nice, but a weird name! Good steady consistent taste. 4.2 on this fine beer!

A very good West coast IPA. This was exactly what I was expecting when I cracked it open. Can art makes me think of going skiing. I would give this one 4 mugs!

Delicious west coast IPA love this style of beer! I enjoyed this beer not sure if resinous tones would allow me to drink multiple in a sitting but this is a quality beer! Can art is simple but definitely fitting for the beer! 3.5 mugs!

Really enjoyed this while watching some boxing at night. Can art was unique while not doing anything crazy. Very good west coast IPA. 4 mugs from me

We enjoyed this beer, but it wasn’t our favorite of the advent. Caleb gives it 2.5 mugs and Maria can’t decide. I liked the original taste, but the aftertaste was too bitter for me. I’ve loved experiencing all of these different IPAs this advent! I never knew I’d be able to taste so many different flavors and notes in a beer.

How fun is the hide and seek can!! Thanks for pointing that out.
Chris loves west coast IPA’s and will always give ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ where as I (Becca) don’t have that relationship. This one was good for me at first sip but was too bitter for me to drink too much of! ⭐️⭐️

Ho, Ho, Ho I have been running behind on the calendar. I really like this beer. Liked the citrus flavor. I really liked the can art for this one. Gave you the snow and Christmas trees, perfect for the season. I would give this one 4 mugs.
Well I have two more to drink tonight so I will be back soon especially since I don’t have to work for the next two weeks.

A very tasty IPA. Easy to drink. The perfect bite from an IPA, but smooth enjoy to enjoy a few. Love the can art, I give this 4 mugs!
