2025--BEER #18: Everything Nice (Brewery Ommegang)

Thank you to Tyler Boger for beer number 18 of the advent. Everything Nice is a 9% ABV Belgian Golden Ale from Brewery Ommegang. Seasonal spices give this beer the flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and white pepper. Pair those flavors with citra hops and caramel malt, and this holiday drink will surely warm you up by the fire next to those chestnuts.

Ommegang Brewery started in 1997 and is located in upstate Cooperstown, New York. Local Belgian Brewer paired with entrepreneurs Don and Wendy to open a Farmstead Brewery in a place once known as Nova Belgium. The brewery continues to grow and expand today and even paired with HBO's hit show, Game of Thrones, for some flavors and bottles inspired by the show.

Everything Nice is surprisingly easy to drink for a 9% beer. By the time I finished it, I really couldn’t believe how high the alcohol percentage was. The strongest flavors I taste are cinnamon and ginger, both of which I like. The mixture of spices and can art make it a great beer for the holiday season.

Tonight's can art was great - maybe one of the best we've seen so far! Unfortunately, we both were not fond of the overpowering spice that this beer offered. It's so fun and interesting to read these comments because everyone has a different flavor profile. We are really enjoying this Brewstravaganza! Wayne is thankful for kicking off his 17 day vacation starting tonight and Heather is thankful to have off work tomorrow for a long weekend. Wayne rates this 1 mug, Heather rates it a 0. Cheers!!

First off, I absolutely love the can design: elves, toys, snow globes, stockings, even a Christmas tree.

A strong 9%, this is one of those Christmas tasting beers. A nice light color, with maybe too much foam when you pour.

Taste the cinnamon and other holiday favors; it reminds me of a nice Christmas sugar cookie.

We are feeling the Christmas spirit in our household tonight from going to see the Christmas lights at Rocky Ridge and then coming home to the most festive can art on this beer we’ve ever seen! Unfortunately though, we both loved the can art a lot more than the actual beer itself. The spices were very strong and the caramel flavor was even stronger, all a little bit too much for us. Maddy is always a sucker for a Belgian though, and the higher abv saved it a bit. Maddy rates this a 2.5 and brandon gives it 2.0.

I’m a fan of the can art, enjoying the illustration and descriptive text explaining Everything Nice! Clove and toffee on the nose, wait, is that butterscotch? Whoa, lots going on with the first taste. Getting more of a raisin molasses finish. A sipper, not a guzzler. 3.5 🍻

Ho, Ho, Ho, well everything is nice because this is a great tasting Christmas beer. I love the taste of cinnamon and nutmeg. It also has 9%ABV which always makes craft beers awesome. I could definitely drink a lot these during the Christmas season. The can art I believe is the best in so far the advent season. Because of all that I said I will give this 4.5 mugs.

Excellent can design! Beer was delicious. Perfect holiday beer, big hits of cinnamon and nutmeg. I give this 4.25 mugs!

Outside of IPAs, Belgians are another go to for me! This was a delicious Christmas spiced beer! I got a ton of the spice which made me think of one of my favorite cookies, snickerdoodles! I would say best can design yet with corny over the top elves with creepy eyes 🤣 4 mugs from me!!

Great choice T!! Love a good spice beer especially this time of year and all the flavors that come with it. Maddy took 2 sniffs of this one. “Yeah, that’s spicy.” The can is awesome too 🤌🏼

I was hoping the one I picked ended up being pretty good. I am happy with my pick. There is plenty of spice and flavor in this and I like the 9% addition to it. Can art is great for this time of year! 4.5 mugs

I really liked the can design! One of my favorites so far. The flavor was awesome. I was worried with it being 9% it would be too strong and tough to finish but it did not taste like a 9% drink to me. 4.3 mugs!

I was sold on this beer from the can art alone! Definitely one of my favorite of this Advent. I liked this beer, but the finish was a little too strong for me. I’d give it 3.5 🍺. Caleb gave it 4 🍺. His comment is “I liked it a lot.”

The best part of this beer is I was SO CLOSE to buying the something naughty and I really wish I would have to pair this with.
Chris said that this is too “spicy” and gave him fall vibes. But this is the kind of beer Becca lives for this time of year! Give me ALL THE FLAVOR!!
