2025--BEER #16: Pennsylvania Lager (Troegs Independent Brewing)

Thank you to Nick M. for providing beer number 16 of the advent. Pennsylvania Lager is a new edition to the Troegs lineup of year-round beers! This thirst quenching 5% ABV beer is both crisp and refreshing. It is brewed with 100% malted barley and German noble hops to give it a clean malt flavor. Grab a couple of friends and a couple of Lagers and enjoy the last few days of Bearded Baker Brewstravaganza 2025!

I like lagers, I love Troegs Oktoberfest lager! This one is very good! It’s lighter but I like the crisp taste! The can is plain, but it’s Troegs!😁4 mugs

Got to be honest, I could design this can. Green can, white letters, really lame, where’s the effort on the branding?. Missed opportunity when I promoted myself for brand ambassador back in the 90s. Pours like a lager, drinks like lager, it’s OK. Yuengling lager is better 🍺 🍺

Ho, Ho, Ho happy Tuesday to everyone, remember tomorrow is hump day and that much closer to the weekend. I really enjoyed this lager, great tasting and easy to drink. Wish it was more than 5% ABV and can art was not very Christmas season so for this one I will have to give 3 mugs. Now that I am all caught up , onto tomorrow, good night.

This a good beer! I think it is a light lager with good flavor. It put a smile on my face with my first sip!
This is a 🍺🍺🍺1/2 beer for me!

This was a pleasant surprise in taste, color, and crispness! A Troegs beer that I actually haven’t had until today! Lagers are not a typical beer of choice for me but this one hit home for me while watching college basketball on a Tuesday evening! Go Duke 😅 3.5 mugs from me!

Love Troegs, don’t desire Ales, but if someone was going to make one I could drink it would definitely be our friends at Troegs! Smooth tasting, a different profile than I’m used to hence Ale. I enjoyed watching ACC basketball sipping on this one along the way! Can art, served appropriately for an Ale, classic, green and gold…3.7 on our mug scale, it was unique to me!

Let’s continue to make an effort on the comment section, as we all are understandably busy, but the comments, feedback and banter help us all to unwind, plus the comments help recognize maybe something in the beer we didn’t first sense ourselves!

This was a basic lager - just okay. Agree with Ron that Yuengling makes it better. Wayne says Treog's should stick with IPA's. Rating this one 3 mugs!

This is a really solid Lager, Madi thinks this would be an awesome summer beer as it is very refreshing and represents well as a high quality Lager. For myself, among Lagers, this one steals the show. Would I choose this over a Double Blizzard, likely not but if I’m grabbing a Lager this will now be my go to. 4 mugs for Madi and I’m going 4.7 mugs. Great beer!

Caleb and I fell off the wagon for a few days. I got sick and then our oldest was really sick, but we’re all on the mend now. He’s off coaching his team for the second game night in a row, so I’m making a comment for us for the first time. We both really enjoyed this beer. I forgot to ask him how many mugs to give this one, so I’m rounding up to 4 mugs! We think this one could compete with Yuengling. If we want a lager, I’d rather buy local, so this will be our new go to!

I feel like i’m usually in the minority with this but I’ve never liked lagers. The Pennsylvania Lager was unfortunately no different. I’ll still give it a decent rating because if it was the only beer I had I would still drink it.

This was mine and I had no clue what to expect. A troegs beer I haven’t had before and I didn’t mind it! Can design could use some work. Has a bit of a summer feel to it but I can’t quite connect what it tastes like. Something I’ve had before. Overall I’d give this a 3.8!

I’ve officially become a Lager lover. Been drinking lagers more and more and this one sealed the deal. Excellent. And I love the clean design of the can too!

A crispy light lager that was easy to drink! Clean malty flavor is a great description for this one I give this 3 mugs!

I have never had the Troegs lager, and it did not disappoint. I would definitely get a case of these and drink. I’ll give it a 3.5 only because the can art wasn’t festive.
