2024--BEER #13: Merry Monks (Weyerbacher Brewing Company)

We are now 13 days in, "thats about a Baker's dozen!" Thank you Cori for beer #13 in the Brewstravaganza. Merry Monks (9.3%) is a Belgian-style tripel from Weyerbacher Brewing Company. The high percent ABV is the perfect way to start the weekend off on the right foot! It has a complex flavor profile of spice, banana, and pear and slightly dry finish. Weyerbacher opened in 1995 in Easton, PA. The brewery is always looking to stretch their creativity and create big bold flavored beers.

Loved the bottle art, aroma during the pour set me back a touch, but the taste was clean and simple, I drank it very fast, could go through these quick! 4/5

This was a great holiday beer! The bottle was very festive and unique! It had a spicy taste, but not too strong, I give it a 3🍻 cheers everyone!

The bottle was so cool. Pour came out really smooth, not too much carbonation compared to your typical American beer so you know you’re getting something real real good (and Belgian) 🇧🇪 4/5 🍺

Today I’m thankful for Doorbusters. Shop Shop! Bottle art appears very Trappist, although the monks don’t seem too merry bustin’ a move with the barrel. Beer tastes as advertised, especially the banana a pear notes. For a 9.3% beer, booze is well hidden. 4 mugs.

A very tasty treat. Was not expecting the smoothness of this Belgian-tripel but it was rather refreshing! Very cool bottle art and I love that it is 9.3% to start the weekend off right! 4🍺s from me! Cheers to Friday the 13th and a full moon 🌕

I’ve been sick the last couple nights and tonight is no different. But the advent stops for nothing or no one. My taste buds are a little skewed but this has a delicious banana flavor! Bottle art is cool! Goodness, a 9.3 feels like a 18.0 right now. 4 mugs. Goodnight!

Cori you have great taste in beer other things maybe lol.. this beer had great taste and great bottle art. Loved the ABV of 9.3 that is plus to start the weekend off. I give this 4.5 mugs. I will definitely look for this beer to get more of for sure.

A classic from one of my favorite breweries I’ve been to! I was surprised to see a Weyerbacher beer in the advent considering how many times they went under as a business! I am so thankful for a delicious Merry Monk they have a great way of making high abv beers taste so smooth! Everything I want in a Belgian Tripel! 5 mugs!

Thought the bottle art was really cool. I thought the smell before I even tasted it was an interesting aroma. 3🍺 for me.

I enjoyed this beer! Love the 9.3% ABV. The banana flavor had me nervous, but it was subtle and was a tasty Christmas tasting beer! 4🍺s from me!
