Thank you Beci and Chris Pope for starting the Brewstravaganza with a banger! Griddle (10.2%) is an Imperial Espresso Stout from Burial Beer Company in Asheville, North Carolina. The Imperial Espresso Stout is brewed with Burial's very own coffee blend. It boast flavors of caramel, honey, and lactose sugars mixed with charred black malt. The expected flavor profile stated by Burial is dulce de leche, toasted pecans, and tropical spices. This is the perfect beer to start your day off at a Sunday brunch or relaxing by firelight after a long day of watching football. Burial Beer Company was opened by three friends from the Seattle area. They moved across the country to Asheville, North Carolina and opened a 1-barrel system brewery and taproom in 2013 in old transmission shop. In 2021 and 2022 they were voted #1 small brewery in the world and #1 small regional brewery in the world.

I drink coffee maybe 4 times a year. It’s not part of my day to day routine. This beer is delicious! I feel like this would pair nice with a dinner dessert. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this group! Go Birds! Go PSU! 4.25 on the Mug scale!

Not a beer that I prefer although it did get a little better the more I drank. I give it a 2.5 on taste. The artwork was a little buzy.

I really enjoyed this beer. Giving it 4 mugs. Very smooth taste, roasted flavoring and definitely get the hint of toasted pecans as the description states. Can art was unusual and gave me old school Ed Hardy shirt vibes. I’m thankful that we are all able to participate in this beer advent with friends and family this years! Cheers to all 24+ of you in the advent! 🎄🍻

Stouts are scary to me, but I really enjoyed this deep dark tasting coffee taste, it was heavy so 12 ounces was plenty! No bitter after taste, I enjoyed this beer! The can art at a quick glance came off as gladiator like…at a closer look, complex mirror image, that was much more complex than the beer, a great Day 1 starter!

I was quite intimidated by the sound of this beer, but I actually really liked it. I’ll give it 4 🍺. This was a great one to start off the advent!

Cheers, everybody!

I’ll give this a 2.5, I think what kills the flavor is the high alcohol content. I do get the flavors it says but it’s the burn of the high ABV. The can art was cool though!

I am not a big fan of stouts, but I am always willing to give them a try here and there. I would give this a 2.5 mugs. Taste is very similar to what is described and the can art is great! Excited for the countdown!

Awesome to be doing the beer extravaganza again this year. Thank you Tyler for doing a great job.
I am not a stout drinker so I was hesitant right off the bat. As I continue to drink it, it does taste better but I would I would give this a 2.5 mugs.
Shari and I visited this brewery in Asheville and it was awesome brewery.
Their outside space was awesome and had great atmosphere.

As the can states “sip it slow and sit long” great advice when enjoying this imperial espresso stout! Coffee and beer two of my absolute favorites things, I was pleased with the overall taste very smooth and not too sweet! 4 out of 5 mugs! Nothing better than enjoying good beer with good people! Looking forward to many more brews!

Chris- Awesome Imperial coffee stout. Like the thickness and taste. Can art is great also. 4.3

Beci - I have recently acquired a taste for stouts and this is one of the best I’ve had. A little strong on the aftertaste, but overall solid beer! 4.0

We’re appreciative to participate in the 2024 brewstravaganza! Margie – oooohhh, I’m going to like an imperial stout! Can art is kinda like a messy and not as cute as Tyler’s website photo. Definitely smell the maple syrup. Taste is not overpowering or too sweet, nice little bitter at the end. 10 percenter! Hope we can still pronounce brewstravaganza three times fast. Ron is still hung up on dulce de leche – what the hell is that. Very nice dessert beer, we give it a rating of 4.5 compared to other stouts we’ve swigged.

We’ve been to Burial Beer in Asheville and remember as one of our favorites.
