2023--BEER #8: Holiday Reserve IPA (Boneshire Brew Works)

Thank you Tyler Boger for this holiday beer to keep the weekend rolling. Holiday Reserve (6.5% ABV) is a New England Hazy IPA brewed locally by Boneshire Brew Works in Harrisburg, PA. Holiday Reserve is a beer that Boneshire brews differently each year. This year's beer is brewed with Columbus, Citra, and Galaxy hops. The flavor profile includes herbal, citrus, and tropical flavors. This beer is sure to bring you some holiday cheer as we get another day closer to Christmas! Boneshire Brew Works started out at some local festivals by sharing their beers with people. They officially opened their doors to the public as a brewery and taproom in 2016.

A very enjoyable beer! The murky, muddy look helped me know right off the bat that this would be an IPA that I enjoyed. I love the bitterness and my only complaint is that it’s only 6.5%. I rate the holiday IPA a 4.6 on the mug scale! Well done Boneshire!

The appearance of the can is very festive. The introduction picture is art worthy itself as T. Bake’s ability to match a moose to the beautiful can. No body can resist a beautiful can! Onto the beer, very nice tasting beer, that tastes like a big hitter, but serves a great multi-drinker at its soft hitting 6.5 lets you have many! Great IPA, and one that won’t scare some off. 4.4/5.

We’ll this was my kind of beer! I love hazy, juicy and that’s what I tasted. I also love that it was from local Boneshire! Kudos to them for such a great holiday beer! 4.8 of 5 mugs for me! Cheers everyone!🍻 I’m thankful we will be on the Santa train tomorrow In Strausburg for a yearly tradition ❤️🚂

It’s hard to believe we’re already at beer #8 but time flies when you’re having fun! Being local, I’ve never actually had the Holiday Reserve from Boneshire but with it being different every year it sounds like we got it on a good year! NE Hazy IPAs are my favorite types of beer as I stated earlier in the Brewstavaganza and this one did nit disappoint. Citra and Galaxy hops are two of my favorites and I was glad to see them in the description. I find quite a few similarities from last nights nights beer when looking at the color as well as the overall taste! I do wish they were more similar in terms of the ABV because I enjoy a nice NE that gives me a lil buzz after finishing it. The can art is simple yet effective in my opinion and really gives the ‘holiday’ vibes. I know the Bogers and Ron are frequent Boneshire patrons (mug club members maybe?) and it’s definitely a brewery I’d like to visit more often because they do make very good beers! As for a rating, I’m giving this one a 4.5 out of 5 mugs, similar to yesterdays but a tad lower due to the lower ABV. Overall though I thoroughly enjoyed it and wish it more than just the reserved for the holidays, cheers everyone!

Firstly, what a cool idea to do a holiday reserve every year! Great IPA but not one of our favorites. Was a good beer to buy again but might not make the list of a top buyer if we see a Nimble or Double Blizzard on the shelf. Would like a bit more hops to make this beer bring it on home. Rating this beer 3.9/5. Lastly, can art was pretty cool with the red flannel. Made us feel like we were chopping down this years Christmas tree! However…… for a holiday reserve we would’ve expected a little more pizzazz. Flannel is nice and cozy but a lot more potential missed. 🎄

Enjoyed this hazy ipa while taking in some college basketball and ufc! My favorite can art so far maybe it’s the fact I have so many shirts that match it! The hops used in this beer did not disappoint, citra and galaxy hops are two of my favorite and provided the expected hoppy taste! 3.8 mugs from me! Definitely a beer I will get again when at the brewery!

I really enjoyed this hazy IPA and I knew it would be a good solid beer since it was from Boneshire Brewery. I really liked the plain but Christmas-y buffalo check can art. I score this beer a 3.5 mugs on the mug rating scale. Truth be told though, if I'm making a visit to Boneshire, 100% of the time I'm getting a Green Machine.

This is a delicious beer with fresh hoppy flavor! I loved Tyler's introductory pic and the can art is simple yet fancy. I give it a 4.0 on the mug rating scale. Good luck finishing up your Christmas shopping this week, everyone! :)

Holiday reserve is very good hazy IPA from one of my favorite local breweries. The taste is great brings out all flavors of the hops. The can art was plain but definitely in the holiday spirit. I love hazy IPA’s so I give this beer 4.2 bearded mugs out of 5.

This is one of my favorites from Boneshire! I agree with all of you the only disappointment with this beer is that it is only 6.5%, but it is very smooth and not too heavy. Love the citrus aftertaste. The can art is perfect for the Holiday Reserve! I give this a 4.5/5 mugs.

We’re fans of Boneshire Brew Works, mug club members 60 and 141. Can art is simple and plain, reminds us of Woolrich clothing which keeps you cozy. Would think holiday motif could have been improved with some green colors. Pours into a very hazy color, not the most appetizing look. Margie says sweet on the nose, very bitter and dry finish. Ron has drank this beer at Boneshire – only one mug as I prefer other options on the menu selection.
