2023--BEER #6: Celebration IPA (Sierra NEvada BREWING COMPANY)

Thank you Heather for providing a celebration in a can! Celebration IPA (6.8% ABV) is a fresh hop IPA brewed with cascade, centennial, and chinook hops paired with caramelized malts. It brings bold citrus and pine flavors. This is obviously the perfect beer for a time of celebration during Christmas season! Sierra Nevada Brewing Company was founded in 1980 by Ken Grossman in Chico, California and the craft beers started flowing. Most notably the Celebration Fresh Hop IPA made its debut in 1981.

A great tasting IPA, a nice dank IPA with that Hoppy scent! A solid drinking beer for building night of fun, great name as after a few everybody will be dancing! Can art is pretty common, but fun! These brewers are making 12oz more common, just a way to sell more beer, I like the pounders! 4.2/5 drinking plenty will always be a reason to Celebrate!

This is a celebration in a can! It’s a good, easy drinking, solid IPA with great flavor. It was just the right amount and was great with our pizza tonight! I’d give it a 4 of 5 mugs. Cheers!🍻

Great IPA! Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is a great brewery, I have never had a bad beer made by them. This IPA has a very good taste. I agree with what someone said about the can design it is normal but is still appealing. I give this a 4.5/5 mugs.

Such a smooth IPA! I’d love to visit the brewery. I also like the “family owned, operated, & argued over” 4.1 mug. Thanks Heather! Cheers!

This is good IPA that has a good taste. The can art was not one of my favorites so far but the beer inside the can is solid. I will give it 3.5 bearded mugs out of 5. Sierra Nevada is a great brewery and came through with another solid beer.

Love Sierra Nevada beers and this one followed suit! Each sip was a celebration in my mouth. I liked the cozy cabin on the can even though it was simple. 4.5 on the mug scale for me!

I enjoyed my Celebration Fresh Hop IPA this evening while walking around my neighborhood looking at the Christmas lights! :) I'm a big fan of Sierra Nevada beers. All of their beers I have tried are tasty and not too heavy or too complex. This beer did not disappoint and I can see why people look forward to this release every year. Can art is pretty simple but can't help wishing I was sitting inside that tiny, snow covered log cabin sipping one of these Celebration beers. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 mugs. Cheers!

Delicious beer, a different kind of IPA than I usually go for, but tasty nevertheless. The flavor profile was interesting as I didn’t get much citrus or pine, but I definitely get the caramel malt flavor after each sip. Can Art was simple, but fit right into the time of the year! An easy drinker at 6.8%, I give this a 3.9 of the mug scale.

A very solid ipa that packs a good bitter punch at the beginning! The only thing that holds it back from being a higher rating for me is the caramel finish. Although it may be more mental for me as the caramel isn’t too overbearing. Definitely a good winter/holiday sipper! 3.8 mugs from me! Great brewery that makes a lot of great beers!

CEL-A-BRATE GOOD TIMES C’MON. That’s all I could think of while enjoying this Celebration Fresh Hop IPA from Sierra Nevada. I’ve actually enjoyed this beer before and it tastes just as I remembered. I actually do not taste any pine or citrus as the description reads but I absolutely taste the caramel-y malts with every sip. The heavy malt/caramel taste is something I’m not too fond of as I enjoy more juicy and hop forward IPAs. To echo Matt, I also like the little slogan at the top of the can “family owned, operated, and argued”. Other than that this can is blah. I understand Sierra Nevada is a staple in the craft beer scene and doesn’t need to make a statement with their can art but I enjoy unique and creative artwork on my beers. The more I drink of this beer the more I do enjoy the taste but unfortunately I only have measly 12 ounces ☹️. Overall, I rate this beer 3.0 out of 5 mugs. It’s a solid beer by a solid brewery it just isn’t the type of IPA that I personally enjoy, cheers everyone!!

Happy Holidays Friends!
Can art is a bit pedestrian, however, they made the effort to put on the winter log cabin, which brings a smile to my holidays!
Margie here…After placing my nose in the glass I got a yummy sweetness, and I was looking forward to my tasting. Sure enough, a nice mild sweetness followed by a bitter finish, that I enjoyed, it didn’t linger on my palate, as they sometimes do. I am enjoying this beverage immensely. Ron is very googly eyed at the moment and is having a difficult time deciphering what he wants to say. He’s giving this beer a solid 3. I, on the other hand am giving this beverage a solid 4.0 Thanks Heather for choosing this beverage from Sierra Nevada!

Margie beer rating = 4.0
Ron beer rating = 3
