Thank you to Cassidy for providing this Sunday Funday beer, Inside Edge IPA from the Wallenpaupack Brewing Company. Inside Edge IPA (7% ABV) is a west coast IPA brewed with chinook, cascade, simcoe, and mosaic hops. The flavor profile consists of grapefruit and pine resin, with a pinch of melon and mixed berries. This beer will edge out the dreariness of a rather rainy day and perk up your holiday spirits! Wallenpaupack Brewing Company was founded in 2017 in the heart of the Pocono Mountains in Hawley, PA. The food and beer at the brewery is inspired by the adjacent Lake Wallenpaupack and can be enjoyed in the taproom or their beer garden.

A lazy football Sunday and another great IPA. Right off the bat I’m giving this beer from Wallenpaupack Brewing Co. a 3.7/5 mug rating. With my initial sip I do get a slight hint of fruit notes but nothing too obvious and couldn’t decipher between the grapefruit, melon, or mixed berries that were listed. After a few more sips the piney and resin notes overtook any notes of fruit I did taste. That’s not a bad thing though as I enjoy the more bitter mouthfeel of a floral beer. Honestly this beer reminds of a hometown favorite, Perpetual. It’s a solid beer that you can always drink and enjoy but I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to drink it. The can art is simple and really relates to the flavor (coniferous trees) in my opinion. The name ‘Inside Edge’ reminds me a Disney Skiing movie and sounds kind of corny, which is my only critique of this beer. Overall a solid choice Cassidy, cheers!! 🍻🍻

Thankful that we’ve been to Wallenpaupack Brewing Co. and Ron probably has previously tasted this beer as favorite IPA is west coast. Margie doesn’t think she will like after reading the beer description. We like the can art skiing and Poconos theme. Margie sniffs, not strong on the nose. Tastes like pine needles, not a fan she says! Ron likes pine needles and will happily drink her portion.

Ron beer rating = 4 mugs
Margie beer rating = not fair to rate as not her style.

Another solid IPA! I loved looking at the wintery can art as we enjoyed this beer beside the Christmas tree. I thought the skier’s head was a blackberry at first but now thinking it might be a hop? Such a nice end to a cozy, rainy Sunday. I liked this beer a lot but nothing about it stood out or set it apart from the average IPA. The flavors were a bit hard for me to pick up on, and I’m getting the hint of pine over the grapefruit or berries (which I really enjoy). If I had this in a flight I would definitely order a full glass, but probably wouldn’t keep it as a staple in the beer fridge or anything. I’ll give this one a 3.5/5! Good pick Cass :)

Just a good solid IPA. Not bad at all but not something I’d keep in the fridge. Could see this beer on a menu and order it but wouldn’t put it up there with the Double Blizzards of the world. Giving this one 3.75/5. Really missing Mads writing half of these posts. Lol

Wow, great taste. Really enjoyed this pale ale. Loved the can as it went well with the name of the beer Inside Edge.
Another beer I could just sit back an enjoy watching a game. Great choice.

This is definitely a piney beer but that isn’t a bad taste. I just love my IPA’s. Take a break from the slopes, order this beer and a big ole soft pretzel with cheese dip, and back out on the mountain. I give this a 3.5 mug. Good pick Cassidy!! Go Birds!!

I have many fond feelings and memories of Wallenpaupak area. I vacationed there every summer as a kid and we have been to there recently as a family and visited this brewery ❤️ I Love this can art, that’s a big part of the fun for me! The beer is a delicious IPA. I like it, just a bit too piney for me to love it. I’ll give it 3.5 mugs🍻

Loved the artwork on the can which was what initially drew me to the beer. Felt very “in season” and thought the taste would follow. I feel like it’s a great staple beer and would be a classic go to but nothing special! Has my favorite mosaic hops and piney taste. 3.5 on the mug scale!

Another good beer selection! This is definitely one of the better IPAs I have ever had. It is a very smooth beer with great taste compared to some other IPAs I have had. The artwork on the can is great! I give this a 3.8 out of 5. Cheers!

Anybody that knows me and piney IPAs knows that I would milk a pine tree if it produced beer for me. That being said, really cool artwork on the can and delicious beer to cheer up a very rainy day! Reminds me of Troegs Perpetual, which is the staple that I measure all IPA beers! Tasty pine taste and a great bitter finish. Love seeing that everyone is enjoying the advent and I appreciate getting to share this experience with you all! Cheers 🍻🎄🎅
Rating=4.3 mugs (or beards according to Jeff)

Style, color, and taste are spot on for my kind of IPA. This beer was a great selection and will definitely be consuming more of this in the future. Trey made a great comparison to my baseline ipa for comparison with perpetual. Loved the very subtle fruity hit at times! 5 mugs from me!

Late to the posting again but I have to admit that beer #2 was not my favorite. In fact, it looked a bit flat on the pour and kinda tasted that way too. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't purchase this one for the fridge. Loved the can art though as it made me want to join the old high school ski club again! :D

This brew is not my favorite IPA and I would rate it a 3 out of 5 on the beer scale. It was nice, however, to drink an IPA that isn't a hazy for a change. Can art is simple but nice!

Love IPA’s this is very much to my taste. I love Heather’s D rating, it cracked me up. Can art was simple and fresh, just like the snow in the pocono’s! Clear pour fresh like the beer itself, this beer could be a regular one! Nice choice Cass!
