2023--BEER #14: Holidale (Breckenridge BREWery)

Thank you Cori for this delicious barrel aged brew. Holidale (10.7% ABV) Christmas ale from Breckenridge Brewery and is aged in whiskey barrels. The beer boasts toasty biscuit notes, sweet caramel and blended with oak and whiskey. This 10.7% beer is sure to warm your holiday spirits. Breckenridge Brewery first opened in 1990 in Breckenridge, Colorado at the bottom of a ski resort. Inspired by the mountains of Colorado, Breckenridge has been brewing for over 30 years.

Hello! I’ve had several Breckenridge beers and enjoyed them all. This was my first barrel aged beer from them and I really enjoyed it! It wasn’t too boozy, went down smoothly, and I enjoyed this beer to the last drop. Can art was plain but festive. Thanks, Cori for this delicious selection! I rate it a 4.5 on the mug scale.

Very festive and tasty beer! I do like a barrel aged. The bottle says 12% and I’m not disagreeing with that. Simple yet festive bottle design. I’m going 3.8 mug. I want to say festive one more time. Thanks Cori! Cheers!

I have had very few barrel aged beers and they never disappoint. This is definitely a brewery I need to check out when I go see my family in Colorado! Bottle does say 12% so that always makes things better. Bottle is great for the holidays. I would give this 3.8/5 mugs.

Nice change with the bottle and I’ll add it’s a festive one Matt😁 First time for me with a barrel aged beer! iIt was good and felt more like 12% than 10! I loved the bottle, beer was good, I rate it a 3 of 5, cheers🍻 we are getting close to the big day!🎄🎁

A nice warm hug is how I describe this beer. The whiskey barrel aged beer warms my heart. I taste the caramel and maltiness and it actually reminds me of Troegenator. I enjoy the bottle design as it reminds me of a classic look. 4.2 mugs on the mug scale from me.

This beer was such a wonderful Christmas surprise for me! I went in not having high hopes, since I’m not the biggest whisky fan (even though I try really hard), but I really really liked this one! The caramel flavor was definitely there but not too strong or sweet, and for as high % as it was it didn’t taste boozy. I agree with the descriptions of this being a warming beer, one sip made me want to cozy up to a Yule log. Maybe this tastes extra good as it’s the first thing I’m having after a very long work day, but I’ll take it. If I wasn’t on call, I’d happily enjoy the entire beer. Shared this one with brandon, but saving mine in the fridge for another time :) good pick Cori! Very excited to like something I would have never picked for myself, I give this a 4/5!

FIRE! What a Tyler pic. We are in OT peeps. Bottle art label is festive with CO mountain outline and the wreath holly berry clip art. The call to action is misplaced as ABV is rather hidden in the lower corner. Bourbon barrel scent is strong on the nose and tastes wonderful says Ron. Margie likes Bourbon but not in her beer :( George Thorogood style if you know what I mean. Ron knows what it means – more for him :).

What a great beer! 12% abv but would never now based on the taste! Smooth, flavorful, and not filling! The hints of whisky has this being a favorite for me! I would enjoy many of these! 4.8 mugs!!!

Cori, 12 % very impressive. Can definitely taste the whiskey in the beer. The bottle is perfect for the season and the brewery is from where my daughter lives which means when I go visit I can go and try some more of their beers. I do like the taste but would only be able to drink one of these a day. Key word is a day. I would give it 3.8 bearded mugs out of 5.
