Thank you Corinne for this dreamy sour beer. Turtle Dreams (6.0% ABV) is a Tropical Sour beer from the First State Brewing Company. It is brewed with Cashmere and Idaho Gem hops, mixed with Peach, Passion Fruit, and Guava. This Sour beer is sure to have you puckering up under the mistletoe. First State Brewing Company first opened by Paul Hester in December 2020 and is located in Middletown, Delaware. The brewery has indoor and outdoor seating with over 25 different beers on tap. It was voted Best New Brewery by the USA Today 10Best.

I feel super unfair rating this beer because I really dislike sours and can usually only handle a sip or two. I will say though, this one was probably the best sour I’ve tasted! I liked how even through the fruity flavors you could still taste the “beer” part. I still couldn’t drink a full glass, but happy to try something new! The can was my favorite though, I loved the cute, dreamy little turtle and could stare at him all night. This one gets a 2/5 from me

This can was adorable! I’m loving all the great cans this year! Beer cans that is haha! This sour was very good! Again, I love this for having us all try new beers. I definitely tasted the peach and it was one I could see drinking at the pool😎 3.7 of 5. Cheers🍻

I dislike sours and at most brewfests I’ll try them and pour them out, but this one I was at least able to drink some of it. That being said I did love the can but unfortunately I’m just not a sour guy. I’ll give this one a 2/5, but as far as sours go it definitely was not the worst one I’ve had.

I go through sour phases. This is one of the best I’ve ever had! Very flavorful and not pucker your lips sour. Love the can and the in-depth description/breakdown. I’ll have to try their other beers because I’m impressed. Darn near perfect for me…maybe another 1-2% abv more. 4.7 mug. Cheers!

We’re thankful the brewery supports recycling on the label like many of the other Brewstravaganza offerings. Good thing the title is Turtle Dreaming or Margie would have no idea what is going on. Minimalist art makes the terrapin pop. What are the numbers around the inside periphery of the cloud? Another rater who likes infinite fractions comparable to PI? Wonder if Jack Reacher drinks this to solve the mystery? Thanks Corrie , for sharing a unique beer. Margie tastes the sour, states it is drinkable but wouldn’t want a full pour. Ron tastes peach and tart, sour but not overwhelming, great after cutting the grass guzzle.

Margie beer rating = 2.0
Ron beer rating = 3

A sour, I love sours. The can was nice and simple. Give it a thumbs up. As for taste, I really enjoyed it but have had other sours that I enjoy better. The 6% is good but for a sour I was hoping for a little stronger. I would give this beer a 4.4 bearded mugs out of 5. Could easily sit around an have a couple of these watching some TV.

Ahhh the day I have been waiting for… a sour! I can taste the passion fruit with a guava aftertaste. This one was pretty easy to drink. I can definitely drink a couple of these. I only wish the abv was higher than 6.0%. The can art is great! I would give this 4/5 mugs, great bear and would go up if abv was a little higher for a sour.

This sour really surprised me! I didn’t get as much sour as it tasted more like a cider to me. I definitely got a lot of peach flavor but it was much more of a crisp flavor than too sour for me. Can Art was really cool with the sleeping turtle, but I really think this beer helped me come out of my shell on sours. I give it 3.3 mugs!

Love a change up on the styles for this years Brewstravaganza! Sours are not normally a style I’d select but am always up for a new beer! Very sour for me making my jawline go numb with every sip! I do love the can art and especially the amount of information the can actually includes! 3 mugs from me!!
