2023--BEER #11: Yeti (Great Divide BREWING COMPANY)

Thank you Wayne for this "Brews"day imperial stout. Yeti (9.5% ABV) is an Imperial Stout brewed by the Greater Divide Brewing Company out of Denver, Colorado. This tasty imperial stout is brewed with American hops, blended with bold malty flavor, and enriched with rich caramel and toffee notes. This 9.5% surprise is sure to bring an avalanche of taste. Greater Divide Brewing Company was started by Brian Dunn in 1994. The brewery has since expanded to over 5 acres and prides itself on the the charity work and mission of giving back to the community in which it resides.

Very happy to announce this is finally a stout that I actually don’t hate! I really like how it’s not too thick or heavy, and how it still relays a nice blend of the caramel and toffee without being sweet. The signature stout coffee flavor is definitely there but I think it blends nicely with the other flavors and doesn’t overpower. The 9.5 ABV also gives it a nice bang for its buck. We visited the Great Divide location downtown Denver when we were on our honeymoon, so drinking this brings back some fun memories! Did not try this one at the time, but I would definitely pick this in my next Great Divide flight. I also have a sweet spot for Bigfoot in my heart, so the can art gets no complaints from me! I give Yeti a 4/5

Super smooth stout! Really enjoyed this beer after this blustery day. Extremely smooth texture, I taste the toffee notes. I would order several of these to finish off the night! Can art was neat and when I looked into the brewery I read that they do many Yeti variations throughout the year. 4.3 on the mug scale for me, tasty stout!

As stated before I am not a huge stout guy, but that one wasn’t too bad. I enjoyed it was only 12oz instead of 16oz. It was pretty smooth and easy to drink. Most stouts taste like an iced coffee most times. The can art is pretty cool too. I would give this one a 3/5 mugs!

Well I am not a big fan of stouts, but sometimes you get surprised. The can art was not one of my favorites. As for the taste, it was better and smoother than what I thought. This is a 3.7 bearded mugs out of 5.

Who doesn’t want to believe in Yeti! We’re fans of the can art, however the can volume gets a 3.75 rating. Maybe next year BOGO rules? Nice bold stout, caramel and chocolate stand out on a sniff. Margie can’t tell if bitter chocolate or bitter coffee finish. All gone, that was too fast. Ron likes the beer lacing on the glass and the beer flavor, not too boozy but can tell there is some kick.

I actually love the can art, not Christmas, but fun!! This stout is delicious and an easy drinker. I think I’m starting to like stouts, that’s what is fun about doing this! Psychologically I always worried it would have caffeine and keep my awake, but not with 9.5% haha. 4 of 5 beers! Cheers🍻

Sorry for the late this beer was really hard to find and Tyler I’m impressed you were able to snap such a good pic of the yeti!!?? Ok I’m done making jokes… beer was very smooth I’m always happy to get to a different styler from IPAs and stouts are a favorite of mine as the colder weather comes. 4 mugs from this fellow yeti!!

I had trouble finding this beer in my frig, I really enjoyed this beer, I couldn’t believe they had a picture of Trey at beer fest on the can!!! I think I grew hair and my feet got bigger with each sip, seriously I really enjoyed this one, I definitely got drunk on this one! Great job Wayne 4/5.
